[생활영어회화] 찬바람, 우풍(Draft) 표현하기

 

1. Dialogue - 영문만

그럼, Anny와 Brain의 대화를 확인해보록 하겠습니다.

 

Anny: Brr...It's so cold in here.
Brian: I know, there must be a draft coming in from somewhere.
Anny: Yeah, definitely! I can feel it on the back of my neck.  Do you know where it's coming from?
Brian: Let's check the windows and doors. Maybe one of them is open.
Anny: Good idea. I'll start checking the windows.
Brian: Then, I'll check the doors.
[They both start checking and eventually find that a window in the living room is open.]
Anny: Found it! This window was open and that's why there's a draft in here.
Brian: Good job! Let's close it and see if that stops the draft.
[The window closes and the draft stops.]
Anny: Phew, that's much better. Thank you for helping me find the source of the draft.
Brian: You're always welcome!

2. Dialogue - 영문 w/ 해석

Anny: Brr...It's so cold in here. 
           으...여기 너무 춥다.
Brian: I know, there must be a draft coming in from somewhere. 
           맞아, 어디선가 찬바람이 부는것 같네.
Anny: Yeah, definitely! I can feel it on the back of my neck. Do you know where it's coming from? 
           응, 확실히! 내 목 뒤에서 찬바람이 느껴져. 어디서 부는지 알겠어?
Brian: Let's check the windows and doors. Maybe one of them is open. 
           그럼, 우리 창문들과 문을 확인해보자. 아마도 그것들 중 하나가 열려있을거야.
Anny: Good idea. I'll start checking the windows.   
          좋은 생각이네. 나는 창문부터 확인해볼께.
Brian: Then, I'll check the doors. 
           그럼, 나는 문을 확인할께.
[They both start checking and eventually find that a window in the living room is open.]
창문과 문을 확인하기 시작했고, 마침내 거실의 창문이 열려있음을 발견
Anny: Found it! This window was open and that's why there's a draft in here.
          찾았다! 이 창문이 열려있어서 찬바람(우풍)이 있었나봐.
Brian: Good job! Let's close it and see if that stops the draft.
          잘했어! 그럼, 창문을 닫고 바람이 멈추는 확인해보자.

[As the window closes, the draft stops.]창문을 닫으면서, 찬바람(우풍)이 멈춥니다.
Anny: Phew, that's much better. Thank you for helping me find the source of the draft.
          휴, 훨씬 낫다. 찬바람(우풍) 원인을 찾는데 도와주서 고마워.
Brian: You're always welcome!
